Ok, no alcohol, no sugar, enough can’t do, what can we do? What helps?
The three stages of menopause are triggered by a natural reduction in oestrogen levels (oestrogen is a female hormone). The reduced levels can result in the 34 symptoms of the menopause transition. Many plants mimic oestrogen or are considered natural sources of plant oestrogen. A diet high in plant oestrogens can improve menopausal symptoms.
I know that soy is no substitute for sugar but all is not lost - cake Wednesday is the highlight of the week at Jennifer Young HQ – I kid you not, we love it.
As we have developed as a team, our cake demands has evolved too.

Cake Wednesday dictates that we each take a turn at making the cake, we don’t buy. The team may be fussy but we are not Michelin Starred – enthusiastic amateurs we are – and we manage cake without refined sugar, admittedly, raspberries and bananas feature heavily.
