Navigating perimenopause with skincare and phytohormones
Last week Catherine Shevloff (49), spoke to us about her experience with perimenopause and the changes she has been experiencing as a result. Following a conversation with her GP, she decided that before pursuing medical options, she wants to explore the different holistic approaches to having the best experience of menopause possible. An ardent advocate of exercise and wellness, she chose to try some of the products from the MPlus skincare collection. Here, she gives us her reviews...

Menopause Hair Loss Shampoo and Conditioner
Amongst the symptoms that Catherine noticed resulting from hormonal changes, were thinning hair around the face as well as generally dry, dull hair. We recommended our Menopause Hair Loss Shampoo and Menopause Dry Hair Loss Conditioner.
Catherine said:
"The menopause shampoo and conditioner for dry hair are like liquid gold! They're so indulgent and they've been amazing on my hair, leaving it noticeably vibrant."
Menopause Collagen Face Cream
Catherine also noticed a change in her skin as perimenopause began. In particular, she highlighted that her skin didn't spring back the way it used to and it was losing its plumpness. For this we recommended our Menopause Collagen Face Cream.
Catherine said:
"The Menopause Collagen Face Cream is so lovely. I especially like the pump which helps control the amount I use. It glides on like silk and my face feels like I’ve given it a good meal."

The eye area is especially sensitive and delicate at any time, but Catherine noticed that she was experiencing more pronounced dark circles, puffiness and fine lines. To accompany the Menopause Collagen Face Cream, we suggested the Menopause Collagen Eyes Gel.
Catherine said:
"I adore the Menopause Collagen Eyes Gel; it’s so good as there’s a lovely tightness and brightness which is immediate."
Motivating Morning and Comforting Night Facial Spritz
Catherine said:
"I especially love the facial spritzes. They're so invigorating and smell like a spa! The morning one in particular was immediately refreshing and stimulating."

Comforting Night Facial Serum
The lack of plumpness, lines and wrinkles that Catherine noticed occurring in her skin meant that we recommended additional products to use as part of a daily skincare ritual. The Comforting Night Facial Serum is designed to nourish the skin on a deeper level.
Catherine said:
"The Comforting Night Facial Serum is divine. My skin drank it in, and it’s really improving my dryness."

Motivating Morning and Comforting Night Moisturising Mousses
Further addressing the dryness that Catherine was concerned about, and adding an extra touch of luxury to her daily skincare routine, we recommended our Motivating Morning and Comforting Night Moisturising Mousses. Nourishing, light and fluffy, they can be used on the face and body. They are enriched with Vitamin E to support skin health. They also contain therapeutic essential oils such as lavender, lemon and rosemary to relieve tension, energise mind and body, and lift your mood in the morning. Alternatively, bergamot, lavender, red mandarin and benzoin aid sleep in the evening.
Catherine said:
"The moisture mousses are amongst my favourites. The texture is like nothing else I’ve used before - they're very special. Again they've given my skin life and energy. I noticed that any make-up I applied after these products sat well and lasted too."
Continuing to try and test the MPlus products, Catherine had a couple of final points to make:
"I'd like to add that I’m definitely investing more time in both the evening and the morning to really 'up' my skin care routine now, although it still doesn't take too long as all the products are quick to use. The main problem is getting my 15 year old daughter to get her hands off them - she’s not in need of any of these things but she loves them!"
