Dating as you grow older - stop before you start

Finding yourself single after a long-term relationship, or simply at an older age, can leave you feeling lonely and isolated.

You may have a lot of self-doubt and your self-worth may be at an all-time low, especially if you’ve been in a controlling relationship. My first piece of advice is to stop, step back, take a deep breath and get your footing back.

Look up, you will notice that life goes on, just as it will for you.

The first question we need to consider is who are you now and what do you want? I have coached many clients who want to get back into dating but with preconceived ideas about how to date in this modern world, what they think they want or what has been suggested by friends.

You have changed over the decades, evolved into an incredible woman who has attained some amazing achievements. You have probably been many roles – Mother, wife, boss, cleaner, cook, taxi, chief bottle washer.

What we need to work out is who you are NOW.
